Narrative Description of Project:
The objective of the project is to achieve the stable electricity supply in Bangladesh by constructing a coal-fired power plant and related facilities in Chittagong region, thereby contributing to sustainable economic growth of Bangladesh.
Description of Actual Services Provided in the Assignment:
The consultant’s scope of work involved the following tasks:
1) Civil Engineer (Land Reclamation-1)
a) Project facilities to be covered:
– Revetment for land reclamation;
– Land reclamation with temporary facilities such as hydraulic spillway for dumping;
– Service road on top of revetment;
– Drainage across revetment and other services (landscaping, security fencing, etc.).
b) To examine, accept or modify the contractor’s proposed work methods and drawings;
c) To assist CPGCBL in the negotiations for any change orders and claims;
d) To prepare the Quarterly Monthly Progress Report;
e) To prepare the Quality Control Report;
f) To check and certify as-built drawings for the parts of the works designed by the contractors, if any;
g) To prepare the Construction Completion Report.
2) Civil Engineer (Hydraulic-2)
a) To conduct supervision work for the project;
b) To assist Mr. Kawai, Resident Engineer, in the work;
c) To follow Mr. Kawai’s instructions;
d) To follow Nippon Koei Head Office’s instructions.
