NK Chairman Arimoto Visits PKII Head Office and Meets with PKII Management

Nippon Koei (NK) Chairman Ryuichi Arimoto visited the PKII Head Office on March 28, 2023 and met with representatives of the PKII Management Team to have meaningful discussions about the current business operations of NK and PKII as well as tackle the prospective business plan and strategies of both companies. PKII President Peter Samoza gave a warm welcome to Arimoto san and then members of the Management Team, namely: Zenaida Abad (Vice President for International Consulting Group (ICG)), Jose Adones Beringuela (Vice President for Domestic Consulting Group), Analie Roque (Assistant Vice President for Finance), Reynante Templo (Manager for Engineering), Jose Leonides David (Manager for Design Center), Cherrie Vitug (Manager for Human Resources), and Patrick John Ramos (Technical Services Officer for ICG) introduced themselves and their respective roles in the organization. Meanwhile, NK representatives, led by Arimoto san, included Tsutomu Tamura (General Manager of Marketing Division), Masashi Sadaie (Chief Representative of NK Manila and concurrently, PKII Vice President for Finance), Naochika Watabe (Marketing and Promotions (KA) Department), and Yutaka Taniguchi (Urban Development and Logistics (KD) Department).
The meeting started with a brief presentation made by Patrick John Ramos on PKII’s business performance for the previous Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 and the company’s business targets and projections for FY 2023 and FY 2024. Recently completed PKII projects including the ADB-funded Cambodia Urban Water Supply Project and the Tri-City Ferry System Project Preparation Study financed by the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) were also presented, together with other ongoing domestic and ICG projects, newly awarded contracts, and planned projects for FY 2023. Thereafter, Cherrie Vitug presented some of the recent HR-related activities of PKII including the PKII project tours, ISO recertification audit, training program and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plans, and the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
After PKII’s presentations, Arimoto san shared NK’s business performance and targets for the previous fiscal year across all regions as well as in terms of different sectors and business fields. NK’s future direction as well as focused areas, including the energy and urban and spatial development sectors, for the next medium term were likewise included in Arimoto san’s presentation. It is worth noting that some of NK’s company strategies for improving the workplace environment and elevating the work-life balance and general wellbeing of all NK group employees were also discussed.
Overall, the productive exchanges and deep conversations between NK and PKII participants led to a very successful meeting and definitely strengthened the bond between the two companies. This is the second time that Arimoto san visited PKII and met with the Management Team, only showing the strong commitment and support of NK Headquarters to its Philippine affiliate company.
