The Management Team started off activities by conducting a project tour and site visit to the Davao City By-Pass Road Project (DCBRP) to familiarize themselves with the various aspects and details of the project. They were ably assisted by DPWH PMO personnel.
The Planning session proper saw the presentation of the historical profit performance from FY 2016 to FY 2022 which showed a constant profit increase for the company. Management hopes to sustain this trend and to consider significant gains taken from the appreciation the US dollar. A summary of contracts awarded as of the end of February 2023, revenue and target profit summary were also presented. Expected domestic and international contract packages were also presented and related financial forecasts were discussed. Also presented for discussion was the Annual Business Plan Preparation for FY 2023-2024.

Management Strategic Planning 2022
As a jump start activity of PKII Management Strategic Planning 2022, the Management Team conducted a tour of its projects in the plains of Pampanga last June 16, 2023. They visited the Pasig-Potrero Spillway No. 1/3, Mancatian Bridge and the SCTEX Pasig-Potrero Bridge projects before proceeding to the main meeting venue in the mountain city of Baguio.
Amidst the cool weather and the beautiful scenery, the 2022 Strategic Planning Session was held at Le Monet Hotel inside Camp John Hay in Baguio City last June 16-18, 2022. Away from the distractions of the office and the chaotic environment of Metro Manila, a review of past performances and a clear look into the company’s future got the session started.
It was mentioned that due to the travel restrictions caused by the pandemic and other international events such as Myanmar political situation, war in Ukraine and Sri Lanka financial collapse, PKII overseas projects were affected and deployments were put on hold. This, however, was offset by domestic projects which overly surpassed their targets.
A presentation of numerical forecasts for FY 2022.7 – 2024.6 showed upward trends and indicate positive growth for PKII in the coming years. While the future looks bright, technical and administrative strategies were discussed and their need to be implemented to fuel and sustain the company’s growth and future. These include, among others, incentives for young engineers (i.e. overseas OJT, project tours and tuition fee/MS degree assistance). Also to be implemented under the NKG Corporate Management and Monitoring is a monthly theme to remind the employees of the company’s core principles. In addition, a cost sharing scheme for the continued provision of shuttle service to employees would put in place. With regards to the proposed office transfer which was deemed advantageous, including leasing office space for project teams, an analysis of options were discussed but came short of confirmation until additional options can be thoroughly studied.
