Recently,
Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. (NK), with the support of Philkoei International,
Inc. (PKII), has ranked first in their proposals for two JICA
funded solid waste management (SWM) projects: (1) the Regional
Solid Waste Management for Mamminasata Project (RSWMMP) in South
Sulawesi, Indonesia; and (2) the Hai Phong City Environmental
Improvement Project – SWM Component in Vietnam. As JICA
has adopted quality- and cost-based selection (QCBS) for the selection
process of short-listed firms, PKII has helped strengthen the
proposals of NK through their globally competitive rates of highly
qualified and well experienced experts. In particular, PKII has
provided NK two experts, one as Team Leader and the other as Financial
Management Expert, for RSWMMP. Both experts have already started
their assignments in Indonesia, and more importantly, PKII has
received positive feedback from NK for the Team Leader’s
exceptional work thus far. Then for the SWM component of the Hai
Phong City Project, two more PKII experts have been selected as
Sewage Treatment Expert and Resettlement Expert, and both will
start their assignments later this year in Vietnam.
In
relation to the above, NK has engaged another PKII consultant
as Financial and Economic Analysis Expert for JICA’s Feasibility
Study on Nairobi SWM Facilities in Kenya. This expert, which has
been previously engaged by NK, will start her assignment in Kenya
later this year.
With
the engagements and deployments of the five experts mentioned
above, PKII has proved valuable to NK, particularly to endeavors
in official development assistance projects.
